Hercules started with a simple but important question: Why is managing dental anesthesia still stuck in the past with paper-based forms and endless compliance headaches?
Dr. Jeffrey Carter, a practicing oral surgeon with over 40 years of experience, faced this problem every day. As the Medical Director of Nashville’s Specialty Surgery Center, Dr. Carter oversaw thousands of anesthesia cases across 70+ dental locations. He saw firsthand how manual paperwork wasted valuable time, created risks, and made it harder for dental teams to focus on their patients.
Determined to find a better way, Dr. Carter partnered with a team of technology experts. Together, they built Hercules—a user-friendly, iPad-based platform that automates compliance, tracks controlled substances, creates billing records, and simplifies documentation. What started as a personal mission to fix a daily problem has grown into a solution trusted by dental organizations across the country.
